By Carlos Costa

CEBU CITY, Philippines  --  Promising unbeaten Filipino 122-pounder Kevin Jake "KJ" Cataraja (7-0, 6 KO's) appeared today during the ALA Promotions press conference at the St. Mark's Hotel in Cebu City - and said that he is ready to battle Indonesian warrior Frengky Rohi.

The two boxers are set to collide in a hot 10-rounder this Saturday (June 16) at Tabuelan Astrodome in the Municipality of Tabuelan, 100 Km north of Cebu City.

"I am from Tabuelan in Northern Cebu," said KJ Catajara.  "Fighting there in my hometown for the first time in front of my mother, my whole family and barkada makes me proud.   I am not going to disappoint them."

Cataraja and Rohi  --  both 23 years-of-age  -- star as the main event of IDOL 3, the ALA Promotions action-packed boxing series which is called the "Future of Philippines Boxing."

In the 10-rounder co-main event, tough 20 year-old puncher Virgel Vitor (12-1, 7 KO's) of Bohol will trade heavy bombs with Gerpaul Valero, 27, of Mandaue City in an exciting super flyweight battle that is very likely to end by knockout.

Also set to see action is undefeated 108-pounder Christian Bacolod (8-0, 6 KO's) of Cebu City, squaring off the dangerous Mervin Lulu, 22, of Sultan Kudarat.  Their 8-rounder promises to thrill fans Saturday night at Tabuelan Astrodome. Bacolod, 23, is trained daily by coach Peter Cuizon at ALA Gym in Talamban, Cebu.

More pro fights are featured in IDOL 3, including Jimmy Paypa of Lanao del Norte pitted against tough Jhun Ryan Quimbo; Esneth Domingo versus fearless Ryan Makiputin; plus unbeaten Justin Darap, 20, of Mandaue versus tiger heart warrior Elmer Liboon.

The first bout of IDOL 3 will match debutant super flyweight JR Villafuerte of Hinobaan, Negros Occidental in battle against fellow Negros Occidental native Tomas Rebusit Jr. of Murcia.
