Yesterday a false story was published in the UK that Amir Khan had signed a contract to face Manny Pacquiao on April 9th in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank spent much of yesterday afternoon fielding numerous phone calls by reporters wanting to know the details.

Arum had previously revealed that Khan, undefeated WBO super lightweight champion Terence Crawford, and Tim Bradley if he defeats Brandon Rios on Saturday, are all in the running to face the Filipino star.

While no deal is yet in place, Arum told BoxingScene.com that he expects Pacquiao to make a decision on what will likely be his final fight of his career around the middle of this month.

"(Pacquiao adviser) Michael Koncz is flying over to the Middle East where Manny Pacquiao is at this moment - with tapes of the Crawford fight and tapes of Amir Khan. We will be discussing everything with Manny next week after the Bradley-Rios fight and we will have a decision probably by mid November," Arum told BoxingScene.com.
