Canadian junior welterweight contender Dierry Jean (28-1, 20KOs) has been added to the rotation of sparring partners for WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, who continues to train hard for the May 2nd showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Jean's sole defeat came at the hands of current IBF 140-pound champion Lamont Peterson.

"It is a unique opportunity for him," said Jean's manager Camille Estephan of Eye of the Tiger Management to TVA Sports. "It says a lot about the qualities of Dierry. It would seem that his style looks a bit like that of Mayweather."

Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, is already getting Jean into gear for the sparring sessions. He wants Jean to fire off Mayweather's well known right hand, so Pacquiao can counter.

“Right now I'm watching the styles and so forth. Tomorrow, I'm gonna make adjustments, I want them to do more,” Roach told ABS-CBN’s Dyan Castillejo. “The Canadian boy, I want him to throw more right hands, Mayweather throws a lot of right hands. I want him to throw right hands at Manny."
