Edgar Santana (29-4, 20KOs) has warned IBF junior welterweight champion Lamont Peterson (32-2-1, 16KOs) that he made a big mistake in selecting him for next Saturday's defense at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The fight

Santana's challenge of Peterson will be a part of a Showtime televised tripleheader. WBC/WBA champion Danny Garcia will face Rod Salka in the main event. If Garcia and Peterson win their fights, then a unification will be pursued by Showtime and Golden Boy Promotions.

If Santana has his way, the big underdog will destroy those plans with a shocking upset. Santana can punch and he believes that one of those big shots will eventually catch Peterson and put him away.

"Well, I’m happy to be the one.  I guess they’ve picked me out of the bunch.  I feel they committed a big mistake and I’m going to be ready to lay it all on the line that day.  I’m going to be there to fight, no doubt about that," Santana said.

"I’m going to prove everybody wrong.  They made a big mistake in choosing me and I’m going to prove everybody wrong and this is for my family and this is for all Puerto Rico and all the Puerto Ricans. They made a big mistake."
