Former two division world champion Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez (34-4, 31KOs) of Puerto Rico is not ready to retire from boxing just yet.

Last Saturday night in Las Vegas, on the Saul Alvarez-Erislandy Lara undercard, Juanma was stopped in three rounds by the unbeaten prospect Francisco Vargas (20-0-1, 14KOs) of Mexico. The loss was Juanma's second stoppage defeat in his last three fights. Juanma has gone 4-4 in his last eight ring appearances, with all four defeats coming in by way of knockout.

"I was 100% prepared. I made weight. I did things right. I had recovered from the [damage] I received in the third, and my corner decided not to allow me to leave [the corner]. I was ready [to fight], but it was my corner [who stopped it]," Juanma told Carlos Narvaez.

"It's really hard for me to end my career in boxing. But right now I can not tell if I will get into the ring again. I also cannot promise you that I retire either."
