When WBA #12 Heavyweight Mark de Mori 25-1-2 (22KO's) returns to the ring on May 23 in Newcastle, Australia, he believes people that have not seen him box this year will in for a surprise.

"This year I have made some changes to my training and mindset and the results have been incredible, the fans are going to see SKOD (Something Kind Of Different), as my promoter likes to say."

De Mori, based in Split Croatia, believes that going 12 rounds in his last fight has allowed him to go back to doing what he does best, score the knockout.

"Boxing is 90% mental.  I had a goal in my mind I needed to prove to myself I had the stamina for 12, and now I have achieved it.  I am not going to be extending fights and looking to get rounds, I can go back to looking for the KO and ending it as soon as possible."

Training with Ivan Simundza (Boxing), Bosko Cavka (Olympic weightlifting) and Marijo Bozikovic (conditioning) full time has him prepared to take on a busy schedule over the next 6 months.

"Boxing can be a very frustrating business, but I expect to be active this year—in the ring 5-6 times before the year is over, but if the opportunity for a big fight comes that will all be scrapped."

De Mori, who is promoted by Don King, feels things will get interesting now Don King has the new WBC Heavyweight Champion Bermane Stiverne.

"Don King is the greatest promoter in the history of boxing, and now he’s back on top with the WBC heavyweight champion of the world.  Don knows that I will be ready when my time comes…and that time is now.”

Mark intends to stay focused, until his time comes.

"Whatever the title, big name or event, I am ready—but I won’t just be sitting around waiting—I will be keeping busy and constantly improving.  I always go out and try and give boxing fans their monies worth—I have the size and strength to bring excitement back to the heavyweight division.”
