Grange Old School Boxing in association with DUCO events New Zealand invites you to return to an old school fight card, at an old school venue when 3 time world champion Daniel Geale returns to the ring to do battle with WBA #13 Garth Wood for the I.B.F. Middleweight Pan Pacific title, headlining a 7 fight card of eagerly anticipated bouts.

Still highly rated on the world scene Geale needs to be impressive against Wood in order to maintain his world ranking and status, however following a verbal exchange at the press announcement “The Real Deal” is on notice that Garth believes he has the motivation, the game plan and the punch to put Geale to sleep and capture the attention of our boxing public once again.

With the stage set for a classic boxer v brawler main event, promoters are confident the balance of show will equally excite as N.S.W Origin captain Paul Gallen steps out on debut against Queensland heavyweight Herman Purcell, stable mate of Michael Katsidis.

Paul made it clear from the outset “I want a hard fight and I want a Queenslander” and didn’t hesitate to accept the challenge when told that Queensland trainer Brendon Smith believes Purcell is the next Mike Tyson.

In the semi-main event Australia’s Kerry Foley takes on New Zealand’s PABA Light Heavyweight champion Robert Berridge in what can only be described as a grudge rematch.Although he has kept busy cage fighting this is Foley’s first time in a boxing ring since a majority draw with Berridge 2 ½ years ago. Foley is reported to have stripped massive weight over 24 hours in order to make the fight on short notice and has vowed this is his opportunity for redemption.

Whilst Kerry has been stewing over the only blemish on his record for the past 30 months Berridge has contested 13 fights, stopping 11 opponents along the way, the last in brutal fashion. With both men possessing 75% KO records, the renewed invigoration of Kerry Foley under the guidance of master trainer Johnny Lewis and Berridge defending his PABA title the stage is set for a sensational scrap.

Also appearing on the card is dynamic Australian cruiserweight Shane Quinn against undefeated Jake Revill from New Zealand over 6 rounds, Emosi Solitua v Daniel Jacobs both undefeated cruiserweights looking to be impressive, local glamazon Lauryn Eagle against Queensland’s Shari Ranger and super featherweight hot prospect Kye MacKenzie.

With boxing taking a beating over the past 10 years…. do yourself a favour and get your backside ringside …… take a step back in time… to a fight night with an old school flavor….. where Australian fight fans were treated to evenly matched fights between willing combatants with no guaranteed outcome.
