Undefeated Argentinean boxer Diego 'The Phantom' Santillan (22-0, 15 KOs) is a frontrunner to face the super champion (118 pounds) of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Panamanian Anselmo 'Chemito' Moreno (34-2-1, 12 KO).

Santillan, 26, is the current Argentine and South American bantamweight champion. In addition, all of his fights have them done in his native Argentina and in his last bout he knocked out, in the fourth round,t compatriot Manuel 'El Indio' Neculhueque.

 

Meanwhile, the 15th of March at the Arena Roberto Duran is the next scheduled return for 'Chemito' Moreno. He will make an optional defense, and then has to make a mandatory against undefeated Dominican Juan Carlos Payano (14-0, 8 KO's).

The spokesperson and wife of Moreno, Rouss Laguna, confirmed that negotiations are ongoing with the team of Santillan.

 

Moreno has spent five years as king of the WBA bantamweight division and has made eleven title defenses of the title which he won on May 31, 2008 by defeating Ukrainian unanimous Vladymir Sidorenko in Germany.
