Today in Sofia, Bulgaria, a press conference took place where current European heavyweight champion Kubrat Pulev (17-0, 9 KOs) revealed his plans for the near future. The Bulgarian fighter announced that he’s going to face former World Boxing Association [WBA] world champion Ruslan Chagaev (31-2-1, 20 KOs) of Uzbekistan. The bout will probably take place on August 24th in one of the cities in Germany.

“The fight is not done 100%, but I think I’ll happen. Chagaev is an experienced opponent, he lost only to [Wladimir] Klitschko and Povetkin. He’s going to be one of the most dangerous opponents I’ve faced. However, I believe in my skills and I hope I’ll win,“ Pulev said.

Pulev has been inactive since September of 2012, when he knocked out giant Alexander Ustinov. Chagaev last fought in March, easily beating Mike Sheppard.
