Last night world class trainer Robert Garcia advised Boxingscene Radio that newly crowned IBF featherweight champion Evgeny Gradovich will resume training on April 7th.

Gradovich is known as the "Mexican Russian" and is part of Garcia's growing stable of fighters.  He won his title last month when he pulled off a major upset against Billy Dib in Connecticut in a fight televised by ESPN2 as part of their Friday Night Fights series.

Gradovich is expected to defend his title for the first time in either June or July on a card headlined by newly crowned WBO featherweight champion Mikey Garcia.  Juan Manuel Lopez and Orlando Cruz have been mentioned as possible opponents for Garcia while Gradovich is expected to face his mandatory challenger, Mauricio Munoz.

A fight between heavyweight contenders Andy Ruiz and Joe Hanks is being discussed to round out the HBO televised tripleheader.

"Gradovich will be back in Oxnard on the 7th to start training for his next fight.  He went home for a couple weeks after he won and now we are hearing that he will be back on Mikey's next fight card in June or July," Garcia told Boxingscene Radio.
