Giacobbe Fragomeni (30-3-2, 12KOs) is getting close to a trilogy showdown with WBC cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (47-2-1, 33KOs) of Poland, according to the World Boxing Council. Fragomeni, then the WBC champion, fought Wlodarczyk to a draw in 2009 and then Fragomeni was knocked out in eight rounds when they met again in 2010. Fragomeni, 43-years-old, earned the right to another title shot with a twelve round split decision over Silvio Branco in December to capture the WBC's silver title.

Wlodarczyk was going to defend his title against former unified champion Jean Marc Mormeck in February, but the French star suffered an injury in camp and withdrew from the contest, and that leaves Fragomeni with the opportunity to jump in for his shot.
