Rising super featherweight Jose Pedraza (10-0, 6 KOs) puts his unblemished record on the line Friday night on ShoBox against late replacement Tevin Farmer (7-3-1, 1 KO).  The 2009 World Championships silver medalist, a part of the Team Puerto Rico promotional outfit, briefly spoke to BoxingScene.com on the matchup.

BoxingScene.com: How was camp?

Jose Pedraza: I had a good training camp.  It was intense.  I’m on weight and ready to go.

BoxingScene.com: Tevin Farmer is stepping in for Allan Benitez.  What do you know about him?

Jose Pedraza: I don’t know too much about him, but my father knows more about him.  He’s a different type of fighter than Benitez.  This guy’s a southpaw, but we’ll be ready for him.

BoxingScene.com: This is your second time on ShoBox.  What lessons did you draw from your first outing?

Jose Pedraza: I’m definitely less nervous and more anxious to fight this time.  I’m looking for this opportunity.  I learned a lot from the last time my fight was televised.  I know I can develop and keep getting better on such a great stage as Showtime.

BoxingScene.com: You’re always growing and developing as a fighter. Where would you say you’ve made the most progress?

Jose Pedraza: I’m a boxer, but I’ve really been developing my versatility.  I can fight either right-handers or lefties.  I use a lot of lateral movement.  If I’m down on the cards, I know I can fight with anybody and exchange punches, too.

BoxingScene.com: What are your goals for the immediate future?

Jose Pedraza: After this fight, I’d like to fight again in December.  I’m going to go over the fight with my father.  I’d like to unify my youth title with another youth champion.  It’s up to my promoter.

BoxingScene.com: Is there anything else you’d like to tell the boxing fans out there?

Jose Pedraza: I hope the fans at home have fun watching my fight, because I will give them a show.  For my friends and family, I hope they enjoy my fight as well.
