The ongoing media tour to promote the upcoming middleweight clash, between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-0-1, 32KOs) and Sergio Martinez (49-2-2, 28KOs), has already become a heated affair as both fighters have hurled insults at each other. Chavez's father, Julio Sr., has also jumped into the fray by daring Martinez to stand and fight like a man when he faces his son on September 15th at the Thomas & Mack Center.

"Martinez runs around like a chicken. If you are a real man you will stand and fight my son. Don't run around. You fight for yourself and not the people. You run around the ring and don't make exciting fights," Chavez Sr. stated.

Martinez calmly offered the younger Chavez the following advice:

"You are saying that I am going to run around like a chicken but I have some advice for Junior. You know how baseball players use a bat? He should bring a bat in the ring so he has a chance but either way he is going to lose bad."

Martinez is a cool character who rarely trash talks.  The animosity is clearly visible between the Chavez clan and himself.  The power of both Martinez and Chavez's words sometimes get lost in translation. Martinez continued his verbal assault by saying that Senior won't be able to recognize his son after their fight.

"I am going to f*** him up.  His dad better take a picture of him before the fight because afterwards he won't recognize him. He will need a DNA sample," Martinez promised.
