BoxNation (Sky Ch. 456/Virgin Ch. 546) starts a sizzling summer of boxing. This week the amateurs are in action at the Alexandra Palace with the Haringay Box Cup which is Europe’s largest senior open boxing tournament hosted by the Haringay Police Police & Community Boxing club.  Top male and female amateur boxers from novice to international level from the UK, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland and Ireland will compete.

On Friday 29th June, LIVE from the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow, Celtic Super-Featherweight Champion Paul Appleby defends his title against three-time British champion John Simpson.  Appleby headlined BoxNation’s first ever live televised show last September in a small hall classic against Liam Walsh and won the Celtic title in a tough battle against Stephen Ormond in March. 

BoxNation viewers’ will also see the long awaited ring return of former two-time WBO World Featherweight Champion Scott Harrison who is back on a remarkable quest to become world champion again.

July starts with a cracking BoxAcademy show LIVE from the York Hall on Thursday 5th featuring the best up and coming young talents in competitive action packed fights.  Exciting super-flyweight star Paul Butler takes on unbeaten Cheshunt sensation Ashley Sexton in a mouth-watering contest that will surely see the winner go on to challenge for the British title. Plus Stephen Ormond and Mickey Coveney fight it out over ten rounds with prospects Darryll Williams, Tom Baker, Charlie Hoy, Mitchell Smith and Joey Taylor on the undercard.

Then it’s the big one LIVE from West Ham United Football Club, London, on Saturday 14th July with heavyweight grudge rivals David Haye and Dereck Chisora in the biggest all-British showdown in recent years.  WBA World Heavyweight Champion Alexander Povetkin defends his title on the show against former world champion Hasim Rahman and the winner of Haye and Chisora will be looking for a shot at Povetkin next.  British talents Liam Walsh and Matthew Hall will be in title action on the card.

One of sport’s hottest talent’s Adrian Broner features LIVE on BoxNation when he defends his title against Vicente Escobedo on Saturday 21st July at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cininnati on Golden Boy Promotions card.  The unbeaten star has stopped 19 out of 23 opponents and Broner’s last three fights have ended inside four rounds.  A further GBP Solo Boxeo will be LIVE on BoxNation on Saturday 11th August with details announced shortly.

On Saturday 25th August it’s a double-header starting at the 02 World Arena in Berlin, Germany with Robert Steiglitz’s seventh defence of the WBO World Super-Middleweight title against Arthur Abraham and then it’s over to America for a Golden Boy Promotions Solo Boxeo show.
