Juan Manuel Marquez (53-6-1, 39KOs) made good on his promise to come in light. On Saturday night he faces Ukrainian boxer Sergey Fedchenko (30-1, 13KOs) for the WBO's interim-junior welterweight title, which takes place at the new Arena Mexico in Mexico City.

The former three division world champion wants to come in a little light to improve his speed and movement. On Thursday, after finishing up a strong workout at trainer Nacho Beristain's Romanza Gym, Marquez weighed in under the junior welterweight limit of 140-pounds. If necessary, Marquez believes that he could still make the lightweight limit of 135-pounds, where the fighter is the "super champion" of the WBO and WBA.
