WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch has issued a warning to his WBA counterpart, he doesn't want any head clashes to occur in their Super Six unification on October 29 in Atlantic City. Froch is concerned with head clashes after numerous butts plagued Ward's fight with Mikkel Kessler in 2009. The Danish star suffered several cuts that forced an early end to the fight and Ward won an eleven round technical decision. After the fight, Kessler complained that Ward was using his head as a weapon.
According to Steve Bunce of ESPN UK - Froch told Ward "I don't want you to butt me like you butted Mikkel Kessler." Ward looked a little taken aback, but Froch carried on: "I'm not joking. I don't want you to butt me, I don't want the fight to be ruined by cuts."
Froch plans to fight fire with fire - "If he butts me, I will butt him back, don't worry. And then it will turn into madness." Nobody wants that.
