Junior middleweight Ryan Rhodes, suffering the third knockout loss of his career on Saturday night in Guadalajara, has no intention of packing up his bags to retire from boxing. In an earlier BoxingScene story, Rhodes admitted that WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez was too strong and his bodyshots were too damaging. The end came in the twelfth round when the referee finally saved Rhodes from further punishment.

"I watched his last fight and saw flaws but he was bigger, stronger and faster than I expected. I found out that he had to lose 25 pounds to make the weight for his last fight; this time his people had him in camp at altitude for six weeks. I don't feel old and I don't feel like I've reached the end. Before this fight I had not lost in five years and I can still compete at an elite level – Alvarez is a very good fighter. It's that simple, no excuses," Rhodes told reporter Steve Bunce of The Mirror.
