WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez has not given up hope for a future trilogy with Manny Pacquiao. The three division champion is tentative to face fellow Mexican superstar Erik Morales on April 16 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The fight is already receiving a lot of media attention in Mexico.

During a recent interview, Marquez acknowledged that he still "wants Pacquiao. He doesn't want to fight, or maybe it's his promoter Top Rank." He plans to continue his chase after facing Morales.

Marquez was under consideration to face Pacquiao on May 7 in Las Vegas. He was overlooked. Pacquiao reached a deal with Shane Mosley to face off on the May date. Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank advised Marquez to face WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto, with the winner facing Pacquiao. Marquez does not appear to be considering that route.

If he can't get Pacquiao, Marquez wants to chase a fourth divisional title at junior welterweight. Among the possible choices, WBA champion Amir Khan is the favorite. Khan is a stablemate of Marquez under Golden Boy Promotions.
