Undefeated heavyweight knockout artist Daniel Dubois is very much motivated to drag Dillian Whyte in the ring in 2021.

Dubois is back in the ring on Saturday night, when he faces late replacement Ricardo Snijders at BT Sport studios in London.

Should he win, there is a tentative date of October 24th to take on unbeaten Olympic silver medal winner Joe Joyce in a high-stakes encounter.

This past Saturday night at the Matchroom Fight Camp in London, Whyte was knocked out in five rounds by Alexander Povetkin.

The unexpected defeat snatched away Whyte's position as mandatory challenger to WBC world champion Tyson Fury.

Whyte has an immediate rematch clause, which he plans to exercise for a second encounter in the fall.

Should everyone come away with wins by the end of the year, Dubois wants to get his hands on Whyte.

"I would love to fight Dillian and beat him, though. He’s a puncher, he’s tough but he’s open, you never know – it could be next year," Dubois told Metro.

"It would be a great fight but for now I’ve got Snijders this weekend and then hopefully a big British showdown with Joe Joyce in October."

Dubois gave high praise to the near 41-year-old Povetkin, who blasted out Whyte with a single vicious uppercut.

"To be nearly 41 and doing that is something. Povetkin has proved himself now, he’s a proper boxer. He’s been raised properly, a soldier through and through. He never once looked fazed by going down twice in the previous round. What a gladiator he is," Dubois said.

Dubois, 22-year-old, is not confident Whyte will bounce back from the loss.

"It’s boxing. He might not be able to rise back up now," Dubois said.
