The location for the Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder trilogy fight could very well depend on which country, region or state recovers quicker from the coronavirus pandemic.

Fury was scheduled to face Wilder for a third time on July 18th, but the fight has been pushed back to early October.

Back in February, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Fury dropped Wilder twice and eventually stopped him in the seventh round to capture the WBC title.

The first bout, which ended in a controversial twelve round split draw, took place in December 2018 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Their trilogy was going to land in Las Vegas, but there is no guarantee that city will be up and running to the level where it can host that event in October.

Depending on the situation, the trilogy could head to another state or even another country, according to Top Rank President Todd DuBoef, who co-promotes Fury.

"Does the UK or the US recover quicker? In the US will the hot spots like New York or California recover? What parts of the world will this pandemic be more under control?," DuBoef told Sky Sports.

"This is all connected to the global healing which will dictate the locations that we all do events in. The wheels are in motion [for Fury and Wilder's third fight], we've put our flag in the ground for a date hoping that between now and then, the dust will have settled and we are all working to a system that is tested and proved.

"We have to be nimble and flexible to see how this plays out because there is a lot of uncertainty. The new normal will be established eventually, everybody is champing at the bit."
