LAS VEGAS, NV - Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe has heard the talk.

There has been a lot of speculation that if Manny Pacquiao beats Adrien Broner on Saturday night then a rematch against Floyd Mayweather would happen next.

The two future Hall of Famers finally faced each other in 2015 in a bout that failed to live up the hype that surrounded it after a 5 year build up. Of course it also set the record for the biggest gate and crushed the all time record for the most pay-per-view revenue in combat sports history.

At a recent media gathering for Badou Jack's fight against Marcus Browne that takes place on the Pacquiao-Broner undercard, Ellerbe reminded the media that Mayweather is retired and that if he really wanted to fight Pacquiao he could be fighting him on Saturday night instead of Adrien Broner.

"This is just my personal opinion, everybody seems to have a script already wrote that this is the set up to Floyd. I am telling you guys that he is retired but if he changes his mind, which he is entitled to do, he will let everybody know. As of right now, he could have fought (Pacquiao) if that is what he wanted to do right now. He could have done that. Floyd isn't interested and has no juices for boxing, the fighting part," Ellerbe told BoxingScene.com.

"When you have done this for your entire life ever since you were a little kid and that is all you have done and dedicated your entire life to that - now some of the fighters are starting to see what it takes and why he has been so successful for so long. It takes so much other than just having an incredible passion for boxing to succeed at this level. There is levels to this. Just look at what he has accomplished in his career, especially the latter part of his career as far generating the revenue and beating the type of guys he did and essentially putting boxing back on the map."

Pacquiao-Broner takes place on Saturday night at the MGM Grand and will be distributed by Showtime Pay-Per-View. Jack versus Browne serves as the co-featured bout with Jhack Tepora-Hugo Ruiz and Rau'shee Warren-Nordine Oubaali rounding out the televised portion of the pay-per-view.
