Kell Brook will be back in the ring in a few weeks’ time.

The 32-year-old former IBF welterweight world champion was last in action in March.

Brook (37-2, 26 KOs) destroyed Sergey Rabchenko at the FlyDSA Arena in his hometown of Sheffield in his first fight at super-welterweight.

He claimed the vacant WBC Silver belt at the weight on the night against the Belarusian, exclusively live on Sky Sports, just 10 months after suffering a second career defeat – and a second fractured orbital bone – against Errol Spence at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane stadium back in May last year.

And Brook’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, revealed to Sky Sports recently that his man will target Amir Khan, as well as a world title fight, with Jarrett Hurd, the new WBA Super and IBF world champion, joining the potential hitlist.

"Kell will be boxing in July and then after that we are looking for the big one," Hearn exclusively told Sky Sports.

"Of course Amir is the big focus but I was interested to see Jarrett Hurd's comments and that's a fight we would definitely be interested in.

"Hurd is a great fighter and huge at the weight but Kell has his heart set on trying to become a two-weight world champion so all the champions are targets."

Boxing Scene understands that July 7 has been reserved by Hearn and Matchroom, at the same venue as Brook’s last dazzling display, for his return, with former two-time Commonwealth heavyweight title challenger Dave Allen and undefeated featherweight talent Jordan Gill among those expected to feature on the bill.

Hurd added the WBA Super belt to his IBF crown with a points win over Erislandy Lara in April and has called ‘The Special One’ out.

The American is ready to put his two belts on the line but wants the Sheffield star to cross the Atlantic to face him.

Further details will be revealed in due course.
