This past weekend in Yokohama, Japan, Naoya Inoue defended his WBO 115-pound title by blowing out Yoann Boyeau in three quick rounds. There was talk of Inoue appearing on the February 24th edition of 'the SuperFly2' card at the Forum, where HBO will once again feature the super flyweight division as they did back in September at the StubHub Center.

It was September card that Inoue made his U.S. debut on where he impressed observers by stopping Antonio Nieves in six rounds.

But after his latest victory it was announced that he would be moving up to the bantamweight level.

"That's my understanding, that he said he's going to move up to 118 after that last fight and hence, he won't be on the 'SuperFly' show," said Tom Loeffler, the head of '360 Promotions', which is organizing this event.

When asked if there were attempts to make unification bouts for the Japanese standout on this upcoming card, Loeffler explained to BoxingScene.com - "I talked to Eddie Hearn about doing a unification bout with (WBA belt-holder) Khalid Yafai but that didn't go very far. (Jerwin) Ancajas went the direction of going with Top Rank."

Ancajas, who has the IBF title, is making his debut under the Top Rank banner on February 3rd.

"So there wasn't an option of doing a unification bout for Inoue on that show," stated Loeffler, who is still looking for a third bout for the HBO broadcast.

"Again, we're just trying to make the best available fight at 115. We're still going to add another fight to the HBO triple-header, so that's what we're working on."

Does the 'SuperFly' concept have to be so rigid and only include those in the 115-pound division?

"Well, for this show HBO still wants to keep it at the super fly division on the televised fights," said Loeffler. ''But in the future, there might be some flexibility on that."
