At Estadio F.A.B. in Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal, Argentina - former world champion Juan Carlos Reveco (38-3, 19 KOs) captured the vacant South American super flyweight title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Jesus Vargas (15-9).

The scores were 120-108, 120-108 and 120-110.

The win was the second in a row since losing by way of an eleventh round knockout in a rematch with WBA flyweight champion Kazuto Ioka of Japan.

Top rated middleweight contender Jorge Sebastian Heiland (29-4-2, 16 KOs) continued his winning ways at the Club Social y Deportivo El Porvenir in Quilmes, Buenos Aires.

Heiland closed the book on a long lasting rivalry with Mateo Veron (26-18), by securing a knockout victory in the eight round. Veron went down in the fifth, the sixth and the eight round.

It was the fifth time that Heiland and Veron faced each other.

They first clash in September of 2011 and went to an eight round split draw. They then fought in a rematch in September 2012, with Heiland winning an eight round majority decision.

They collided for a third time in June 2013, with Veron getting revenge by winning a upset ten round majority decision. They met for a fourth time in September 2014, with Heiland redeeming himself by dropping Veron twice for a fifth round stoppage win.

Some fans may remember Veron as being the opponent of choice for the 2015 comeback of former world champion Acelino Freitas, who won the fight with a third round knockout.
