Zsolt Erdei Officially Vacates the WBC Cruiserweight Belt

By Rick Reeno

BoxingScene.com was advised that Zsolt Erdei has officially vacated the WBC cruiserweight title. Universum informed the WBC of Erdei's decision on Friday via letter. Erdei gave up his WBO light heavyweight title last November to challenge Giacobbe Fragomeni for the cruiserweight title. He won a majority decision but only weighed 178-pounds for the fight, which is barely above the light heavyweight limit.

Universum made a request to the WBC for Erdei to receive a ranking in the light heavyweight division.
