Yuriorkis Gamboa: Bradley Fight is Not Going To Happen
By Rick Reeno
Former champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (22-0, 16KOs) advised BoxingScene.com that a proposed fight with WBO welterweight king Timothy Bradley (29-0, 12KOs) will not come off. The fight was being discussed for an HBO televised date of March 16th.
Gamboa, as reported, said there were issues with the agreed upon weight. The Olympic gold medal winner wasn't interested in moving up by 17-pounds, from super featherweight to welterweight. Bradley was not interested in dropping down to a catch-weight near the junior welterweight limit of 140.
"It won't happen. The weight is too much. He's [all the way up there] and I'm [all the way down here]," Gamboa told BoxingScene.com.

[QUOTE=newcastleking;12962505]in my "personal" opinion, i think Gamboa isnt all that great to be having this star status, he gasses out after mid rounds or goes from being very quick & accurate to fighting sloppy and desperate starts to fight dirty…Comment by HeroBando on 01-27-2013
[QUOTE=hitking;12962482]I'm not really comparing the talent gap between Floyd and Gatti, and Broner and Gamboa respectively. I'm talking about the ass whippin' I foresee. Outside of landing some wild **** and knocking Broner cold, there's nothing Gamboa can do that…Post a Comment - View More User Comments (42)
