Yamanaka-Nieves, Yaegashi-Blanquet Double on 8/12

Shinsuke Yamanaka (18-0, 13KOs) and Akira Yaegashi will put their World Boxing Council titles on the line in a doubleheader in August in Tokyo, it was announced Monday. Yamanaka will make the fourth defense of his bantamweight title when he faces No. 7-ranked Jose Nieves (22-2-3, 11KOs) of Puerto Rico on Aug. 12 at the Ota Ward Gym.

Yaegashi (17-3, 9KOs), a former WBA minimumweight champ who secured the WBC flyweight belt by beating Toshiyuki Igarashi in April, will take on Mexico’s 11th-ranked Oscar Blanquet (32-5-1, 23KOs) in his first title defense.

Interesting... I love how when Japan puts on title fights, it's usually a double or triple Championship header
