| Wladimir, Vitali Klitschko: Adamek Should Move Down
|
|
By Luke Furman WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, and his younger brother, Wladimir, who holds the WBA/IBO/IBF/WBO titles, are in agreement that former two division champion Tomasz Adamek (44-2, 28 KOs) should move down in weight. On Saturday night in Poland, 42,000 fans watched Vitali give Adamek a brutal beating before the fight was stopped in the tenth round. Adamek is a former light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion. Wladimir said - "I am very happy that Vitali has once again won. He showed that he is in great physical shape. Tomasz Adamek, although he was the master in the two lower weight classes, but can not handle heavyweight. He won five fights and fully deserved the number one position in the rankings. I really like him and appreciate his performances. The fans were trying to promote Adamek, but that is not always enough." Vitali said - "I understand that everyone was supporting Tomasz, because the arena's atmosphere as very good. My opponent is a great boxer, with an amazing jaw and a big fighting heart. He really wanted to win, but I was just better than him. But he showed a great fighting heart. I think heavyweight is too much for him, he made a mistake by moving up." Regardless of the division he will pursue his career in, Prudential fans are always ready to welcome him vividly. I prefer him droppind down to CW, problem may lay in the fact that decent part of top CW fighters are based in Europe and telling the truth Tarver, Huck, maybe Lebedev are pretty toug... |
I don't see why, sure he can't beat a Klitschko, but I think he can beat everyone else (of course he can also be beaten by some of them). He should try to get a fight with Povetkin, so he can say he got a belt at HW, even if it's just a paper belt.
really want Povetkin vs... |

Hasn't Adamek already been there and done that? Why move back CW? He could probably win the WBA joke belt off Povetkin and defend it against all the other HWs not named Klitschko for a while. |
