| Wladimir Klitschko's Surgery Cancels Fight With Mormeck
|
|
By Alexey Sukachev According to Berndt Boente, manager of the Klitschko brothers, Wladimir's fight versus former cruiserweight king Jean-Mark Mormeck, which was scheduled to take place this coming Saturday night in Germany, is now off. "Wladimir is very disappointed about this cancellation", commented Boente, "Wladimir is crushed and ruined as he did everything he could to give a show to his loyal, beloved fans. But the pain is too much to overcome at this moment. We have no other choice but to cancel the event". IBF/WBO/WBA/IBO world heavyweight champion had surgery to remove a kidney stone on Saturday. He was forced to spend the entire day at the hospital with a high temparature and imflammation. "Wladimir shouldn't fight any time soon", confirmed German urologist Peter Albertz during the presser in Dusseldorf, dedicated to an unfortunate turn of events. "Anyone who sustains two surgeries in a span of less than 24 hours, needs considerable time to rest." Tags: Wladimir Klitschko , Jean-Marc Mormeck , Klitschko-Mormeck , Klitschko vs Mormeck |
When we look at the losses Vlad has suffered, it would have been great to have seen him against Frazier, Quarry, Lyle, Jimmy Young or of course, Iron Mike.
He was fortunate to have been born in the age of Haye.

Interestingly, he had 58 pro fights from 1996 to late 2010 without ever needing to cancel or delay a fight because of injury.
I wonder if age and all those training camps, fights, and sparring may be causing his body to start to break down?
