Williams: Hank Lundy Has No Chin and He's Been Dropped

 By Ryan Burton

Lightweight prospect Dannie Williams (21-1) finds all the chatter coming from his upcoming opponent Hank Lundy (21-1-1) amusing.  The two once beaten lightweights collide on March 30th in the main event of ESPN Friday Night Fights.  Lundy doesn't shy away from the media and is known as one of the biggest talkers in the sport.  Boxingscene recently spoke to Williams to get his take on what he thinks of his brash adversary's trash talking.

"It is funny coming from a guy that doesn't have a chin and has been dropped.  He's a guy who has the same record as me and is doing all that talking. You aren't undefeated.  You aren't what you say you are," stated Williams.

Williams appears to have studied his opponent well as he quickly rattled off the names of three fighters who have knocked Lundy down.

"You have been dropped four damn times.  (Richard) Abril dropped you.  (John) Molina dropped you. (David) Diaz dropped you and another guy dropped you.  I call it free promotion.  He just knows how to promote himself.  That's all."

The St. Louis, MO native who now fights out of Youngstown, OH said that he plans on putting on a show Friday night.  He ended our conversation with a message for the fans and urged them to tune in to what he is calling a 'can't miss fight.'

"Tell the fans to stay tuned.  Be ready to watch (ESPN) Friday Night Fights.  I bring excitement to the game and you don't want to miss it.  Hank says he brings excitement too.  This is one hell of a showdown between two up and comers at 135," Williams told BoxingScene.

looks like a good bout which ESPN needs in a terrible matchup/boring season , the worst was the 1st in florida w/Dyah Davis...glad Flores is out of season as Bernardo's good w/bi-lingual interviews...less time 2 listen 2 atlas...
