| Wilfredo Vazquez-Rafael Marquez in Play For August 4th
|
|
By Rey Colon A battle of former champions is going to take place on August 4th at the Coliseo Rubén Rodríguez in Bayamon, as former multi-division champion Rafael Marquez (41-7, 37 KOs) will face ex-WBO super bantamweight beltholder Wilfredo "Papito" Vazquez (21-2-1, 18 KOs). Vazquez was informed of the date by his promoter Tutico Zabala of All Star Promotions. If the fight is indeed going to take place on this date, it would like get paired with the planned fight between the former champion of the WBO at 105-pounds, Ivan Calderon (35-2-1, 6 KO's), and the current champion, Mexico's Moises Fuentes (14-1 and 6 KO's). Former WBO super featherweight champion Roman "Rocky" Martinez (25-1-1, 16KOs) is also potentially returning on the date. Marquez is in no way a safe fight for Vazquez. Although Rafael is in the twilight of his career, he still possess the power to stop WV2. |
