WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is promising to do some real damage to Luis Ortiz.

Last Friday night in Miami, Wilder (39-0, 38 KOs) and Ortiz (28-0, 24 KOs) went face to face and traded harsh words before a televised audience on Fox Sports 1.

Wilder was scheduled to make a voluntary defense against Ortiz on November 4th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Ortiz then failed a pre-fight drug test and was pulled from the fight. He was replaced by Bermane Stiverne, who Wilder demolished in the first round after three scored knockdowns. The outcome gave Wilder some needed satisfaction, because Stiverne was the only boxer to go the distance with the unbeaten champion in 2015.

The WBC recently cleared Ortiz of any wrongdoing - after an investigation determined that he was taking prescribed medication for his high blood pressure - and two of the key ingredients in the medicine caused the drug test failure.

Now the teams behind Wilder and Ortiz are expected to hold discussions for a collision in the ring in the first quarter of 2018.

"'Bubbles the chimp' Luis Ortiz, I’m going to make a Cuban Sandwich out of your ass and have karma to bite it," Wilder stated. "I blessed you the first time, boy you better get on your knees tonight because God has blessed you with a second time. Luis Ortiz, I’m about to whoop your ass and this I promise."

Ortiz had stated earlier, that in his opinion Wilder displayed fear when they came face to face.

"He's a coward, I saw the fear in his eyes, but I think now this fight is going to happen," Ortiz said. "He knows that he has nowhere to hide, that there is nothing out there worthy of my talent, that the fans and the experts will not let him continue to face minor opponents."
