Ricky Burns and Raymundo 'Sucra' Beltran both successfully made weight for their lightweight title fight Saturday evening in Glasgow, Scotland.
Burns, who fights for the fourth straight time in Glasgow, was met with raucous applause as he stepped to the scales. There was no letdown from the defending titlist, who weighed in at 134.25 lb. Beltran came in slightly heavier but still within the lightweight limit as he weighed 134.75 lb.
The bout marks the fourth defense of the lightweight title for Burns (36-2, 11KO); Beltran (28-6, 17KO) fights in his first major title fight and also his first bout outside of the U.S. and Mexico.
Wealth TV will air the main event in the United States, while Sky Sports will serve as the broadcast home for fight fans in the United Kingdom.
