WealthTV To Air Prizefighter Welterweights III Series

SAN DIEGO, CA – WealthTV has secured the live telecast rights to the highly popular and fast paced Prizefighter: The Welterweights III, scheduled for January19th at 3 PM EST.  The boxing extravaganza features eight rising Welterweights, all fighting in one evening in three round single eliminator bouts.   The crowned winner will need to survive three different opponents to be crowned the champion for the evening.   

“This fast-paced format is great for boxing fans.   It’s action packed and an all-out war in the ring,” said WealthTV’s director of live events Tommy Morris.  “Previous Prizefighter events have helped discover some of the world’s best fighters.  It’s a must watch for boxing fans.”     

The level of talent for Prizefighter: The Welterweights III is at an all-time high.   Six of the eight fighters are undefeated, namely Calum Cooper, Sam Eggington, Dale Evens, Glenn Foot, Chad Gaynor, and Steven Pearce.  They will be joined by two proven top opponents with impressive records Rob Hunt (16W-1L-2D) and Mark Thompson (24-2).

“This will be a life changing moment for one of these fighters,” Added Morris.  “This is their chance to rise up from anonymity and make names for themselves.” 

The Prizefighter series started in 2008, since then there have been twenty-seven different installments spanning over fourteen different weight classes from Super Bantamweight to Heavyweight.

Past tournament champions include heavyweight Audley Harrison, who earned a WBA world title shot after his Prizefighter victory, #2 WBA lightweight contender Gavin Rees, and WBC #4 bantamweight contender Lee Haskins.

WealthTV will also air Prizefighter: Light Middleweights III on Thursday, January 17th.
