WBC Elects Loeffler as Representative of The Promoters

The World Boxing Council announces that Mr. Tom Loeffler has been elected by vote of the promoters themselves, as Representative of the Promoters on the WBC Board of Governors.

Mr. Loeffler is Director of K2 Promotions, based in Los Angeles , California, established in 2003 It promotes the WBC Emeritus Champion Vitali Klitschko and his brother Wladimir.

On April 24, 2004 K2 Promotions promoted its first card at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where Vitali Klitschko won the vacant WBC heavyweight title, defeating Corrie Sanders of South Africa, by TKO in the 8th round.

In the last decade, K2 Promotions has promoted more fights of heavyweights than any other company in the world. K2 Promotions is one of the most respected boxing promotional firms to transmit the greatest boxing events in some of the best arenas in the world, including: The Staples Center, Mandalay Bay, Madison Square Garden, O2 World arena (Berlin), Koln Arena ( Cologne). As well as the largest football stadiums in Germany, including: The Imtech Arena (Hamburg ), Commerzbank -Arena ( Frankfurt) , the ESPRIT Arena (Dusseldorf ), Veltins -Arena (Schalke ) and recently in the Municipal Stadium Wroclaw, Poland.

Previously this position was occupied by Mr. Salvatore Cherchi , President of  OPI 2000 in Milan, Italy. The WBC greatly appreciates his excellent performance during his tenure and thanks him for his hard work.

The WBC welcomes Mr. Loeffler to this position within its structure .
