Thailand’s World Boxing Council light flyweight champion Kompayak Porpranmook has become a Buddhist monk at the Nangsao Temple and taken the name of monk Suthico.

He will remain in the Buddhist temple for one month.

A report from the WBC says that Kompayak will return to the ring and give Mexico’s Adrian “Cpnfesor” Hernandez a rematch.

Kompayak won the title from Hernandez with a 10th round knockout on December 23, 2011.

However, he won a highly controversial 5th round technical decision  against Filipino southpaw Jonathan Taconing last May 3.

WBC president Don Jose Sulaiman asked then WBC representative in Bangkok, Edward Thangarajah, f or a report on the fight as well as a DVD which was forwarded to the head of the WBC Review Committee.

However, there has been no report upto now on what his findings are.

The 29-year-old Kompayak has a record of 45-3 with 30 knockouts.
