WBA: Andre Ward Will Have to Face Kessler-Magee Winner

According to the World Boxing Association, the WBA's "super champion" at super middleweight, Andre Ward (26-0, 14KOs) will have to face the winner of the upcoming fight between Brian Magee (36-4-1, 25KOs) and Mikkel Kessler (45-2, 34KOs).
Magee and Kessler will fight on December 8th in Denmark for the "regular" WBA championship. Following the conclusion of that fight, the WBA will give Ward six months to face the winner.
Ward, who may return on January 26th against Kelly Pavlik, already holds an eleven round technical decision over Kessler from their 2009 fight in the first stage of the Super Six tournament.
Think Ward-Kessler II in Denmark would be a solid fight for both fighters. Ward would surely make the most money he's probably ever made fighting there, and Kessler is a warrior who would be a handful for all fighters. People…Comment by MDPopescu on 11-01-2012

I hope Ward fights Pavlik in January, get the year started nice and early. Then the Froch/Bute II winner in the fall. No sense in a Kessler rematch and even less sense laying your undefeated record on the line against…Comment by TaurusJ27 on 10-31-2012
