Warren Targets Fury vs. Chisora Rematch For June

Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora have been set on collision course for a stadium showdown in June after Chisora's promoter Frank Warren announced he has agreed a deal to set up a big-money rematch between the heavyweight pair.

Fury, who is still promoted by Mick Hennessy, will fight on the same bill as Chisora at the Copper Box in London on February 15 with a view to the pair squaring off later in the year if both are successful on the night.

Fury beat Chisora on points in July 2011 to take his British and Commonwealth titles but has since suffered frustration after two consecutive bouts against now-retired rival David Haye fell through.

Warren said: "I'm delighted that Tyson and Mick are working with us and he'll have his first fight on the Copper Box Arena show on Saturday 15th February.

"The plan is for both of them to come through their fights on the night and then the pair will meet in a massive rematch in June.

"Because it's the biggest fight out there for them and it's a fight that the public want to see the only place for it to happen would be a football stadium, a real summer extravaganza between the big men of British boxing before the World Cup.

"Tyson beat Dereck a few years ago and since then both of them have come on. Tyson has done fantastically, winning both here and abroad, and has marked himself as one of the world's most exciting heavyweights.

"Dereck's performances have been spot-on recently, his weight is right and so his attitude and focus and he's a real handful for any heavyweight out there."

Chisora will put his European heavyweight title on the line against undefeated Ukrainian Andriy Rudenko on the Copper Box card while Fury will take on an opponent yet to be named.

The prospective meeting between the pair has been lent added importance by the news of Vitali Klitschko has retired, opening up the division and leaving two of the major four titles vacant.

Warren added: "Chisora versus Fury is the biggest fight out there and it could certainly be a world title eliminator. But plans can be upset though. Chisora has a by no means easy fight against a hard and undefeated Ukrainian in Rudenko who's knocked out 16 of 24 opponents."

Fury's younger cousin, 19-year-old Hughie Fury, will also fight on the Copper Box bill.

EBU title gets you up in WBC rankings and Fury is ranked 8 after fighting 50 eliminators. He should go with the IBF route. This fight does nothing for his career.
