Apparently, German heavyweight Michael Wallisch (8-0, 5KOs) was pulled by his promoter - EC Box Promotion in Hamburg - from the scheduled fight for the vacant EU title against Brit Richard Towers, on June 16 in Manchester - after Wallisch simply disappeared from training camp. It is still a mystery why Wallisch walked away from training camp.
As BoxingScene.com previously reported, Frenchman Gregory Tony, who also doubles with success in Martial Arts, was brought in to replace Wallisch. Tony was stopped by Robert Helenius in a previous attempt to win this title.
Also on this bill is Sergey Rabchenko vs Ryan Rhodes in a fight for the EBU jr middleweight title.
