WASHINGTON, D.C.  - Fight week began Wednesday for the SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING doubleheader taking place Saturday, April 30 at the DC Armory in Washington, D.C. as fighters toured monuments throughout the nation's capital before they enter the ring for their respective world title fights on Saturday night.

In the main event live on SHOWTIME® (10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT), WBC Super Middleweight World Champion Badou Jack will take on former world champion Lucian Bute while IBF Super Middleweight World Champion James DeGale prepares to take on top rated contender Rogelio Medina.  The winners will meet in a super middleweight world-title unification fight later this year.

The four fighters represent three continents and highlight the international appeal of boxing and widespread interest in Saturday's bouts.

Jack was born in Stockholm, Sweden and represented Gambia in the 2008 Olympics before taking up his current residence in Las Vegas. Bute was born in Pechea, Romania but has fought out of Quebec, Canada since his pro debut and gained Canadian citizenship in 2012. DeGale was a 2008 Gold Medalist for Great Britain who was born in London while Medina was born and continues to live in Sonora, Mexico.

The fighters posed in front of the White House, the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument on their tour of the nation's capital. Jack also visited the Swedish Embassy and met Swedish Ambassador Bjorn Lyrvall. Jack was greeted by embassy staff and posed for pictures and signed autographs while also being treated to Swedish desserts.
