Vicente Escobedo, Randy Caballero, Bogere Win Bouts

By Chris LaBate

At Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California, lightweight contender Vicente Escobedo (23-3, 14KOs) won unanimous ten round decision over Walter Estrada (38-14, 25KOs). The scores were 97-92, 97-92 and 96-93. Escobedo dropped Estrada in the seventh round, but suffered a bad cut from a clash of heads in the eight.

Super bantamweight prospect Randy Caballero (8-0, 4KOs) dominated Hugo Ramos (3-8-2, 1KO) to win a six round unanimous decision. All three judges had it 60-54.

Rising junior welterweight contender Sharif Bogere (19-0, 12KOs) destroyed late replacement Shamir Reyes (18-9, 7KOs) in the first round after scoring four knockdowns.

Featherweight prospect Diego Madrigal (1-0-1) fought Juan Sandoval (4-6, 2KOs) to a very unpopular four round draw. Madrigal appeared to be knocked down and out of the ring in the third but it was waved off by referee. Madrigal once again struggled and was hurt in the fourth but made it through.
