| Vazquez vs. Quintero Heads To October 27th on HBO

By Rick Reeno BoxingScene.com has been advised that promoter Gary Shaw submitted the winning bid to secure the rights to Marvin Quintero's mandatory challenge of IBF lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez (31-3, 13KOs). Shaw was the sole bidder with a monetary submission of $50,000. Quintero (25-3, 21KOs) vs. Vazquez will now land on Shaw's HBO televised card on October 27th at Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York. "I won today's purse bid and right now the fight is going to take place on October 27th as the opening fight on HBO," Shaw told BoxingScene.com. Tags: Miguel Vazquez  , Marvin Quintero |

The Gesta haters have nothing negative to say about a guy who was knocked out by Tyrone Harris and powerless, anciant Danial Attah now getting a title shot. The bias is obvious. Figures. |

Shaw is 1 cheap SOB...50K for a title???That's why we need a national commission w/minimums a guy get 4 a title...50K split 70/30 or 60/40 after trainers, mgrs, sparring, etc.. and takes , lucky if 1 of them make 10k... |
