Vazquez vs Arce: Joe Cortez Selected as The Third Man

According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Joe Cortez has been selected to referee the WBO super bantamweight championship fight between the title holder Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. and former three division champion Jorge Arce.

The fight takes place on the televised pay-per-view undercard of the Manny Pacquiao versus Shane Mosley super fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday.

This will be the latest chapter in the storied rivalry between Mexico and Puerto Rico. Vazquez will be looking to stop Puerto Rico's recent losing streak to Mexican boxers in title fights.

Giovani Segura stopped Ivan Calderon and Orlando Salido upset Juan Manuel Lopez in the past few weeks to give Mexico the upper hand in the in the legendary rivalry.
