Former champion Jorge Arce (56-6, 43KOs) of Mexico will get his wish. Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum has confirmed that a deal has been agreed to in principle for unbeaten Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. (20-0, 17KOs) of Puerto Rico to defend his WBO super bantamweight title against Arce on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight will be part of the pay-per-view undercard to Manny Pacquiao's defense of the WBO welterweight title against Shane Mosley.

"The only thing remaining is to sign the contracts. We have a verbal agreement and we believe that it's going to be a great fight," Arum told Carlos Gonzalez.
