BoxingScene.com's Jake Donovan had previously reported that former super bantamweight champion Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. (22-2-1, 19KOs) would return to the ring on April 6th in Macau against an opponent to be determined.
Vazquez's co-promoter Felix "Tutico" Zabala has advised us that a deal is close to being completed for Yasutaka Ishimoto (21-6) of Japan to be the opponent. WV2 will be defending his WBO International super bantamweight title. He won the WBO International title when he knocked out Jonathan Oquendo in October.
Another fight being seriously discussed is a WBO super featherweight clash with undefeated top rated contender Diego Magdaleno (23-0, 9KOs) challenging reigning champion Roman "Rocky" Martinez (26-1-2, 16KOs).
The card will have plenty of international flavor with two time Chinese Olympic gold medalist Zou Shiming headlining the card against an opponent to be determined. Brian Viloria will defend his WBA and WBO flyweight titles against Juan Francisco Estrada and Vanes Martirosyan will also appear on the card.
