Better late than never. Top Rank has finally been able to put together the super featherweight showdown between Vasyl Lomachenko and Nicholas Walters. The HBO televised fight will take place on November 26th at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

The fight has been long discussed, even prior to Lomachenko moving up to super featherweight.

Initially there were issues over the weight, with Walters being unsure if he was going to remain at featherweight or super featherweight, and then there were issues over the money.

Lomachenko (6-1, 4 KOs) moved up in weight back in June, and scored a brutal knockout over Roman Martinez to capture the WBO super featherweight title and became a two-division world champion.

Walters (26-0-1, 21 KOs) became the man at 126 after he knocked out Nonito Donaire. He lost that title after being unable to make weight for a bout with Miguel Marriaga, who lost a decision. Walters then had a controversial draw with Jason Sosa last December. Walters appeared to be the clear winner in that fight and Sosa has since captured the WBA title with a knockout of Javier Fortuna earlier this year.

Because of issues behind the scenes, Walters has been out of the ring since then and enters a very tough fight coming off a near one-year layoff, but is still one of the best fights to take at 130-pounds.
