| Vargas-Omotoso in Play For Rios-Alvarado II on 3/30
|
|
By Mike Coppinger According to sources, a fight between Jessie Vargas (21-0, 9 KOs) and Wale Omotoso (23-0, 19 KOs) is being dicussed for the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on March 30 on the HBO televised undercard of Brandon Rios-Mike Alvarado 2. The proposed bout would pitt undefeated welterweights and would feature the HBO debut of each boxer. Vargas, who recently signed with Top Rank, is coming off a stay-busy win over Vito Gasparyan on December 7th at Texas Station in Las Vegas, while Omotoso fought Irving Garcia on that same card to a two round no-contest due to a clash of heads.
If Arum wanted him out, he would feed Vargus to someone who could beat him.....rather than Omotoso.
What kind of fighter is Omotoso if you don't mind me asking?
Found film against Augustus I'm going to watch this weekend, but kind of interested in what other people think |
I guess arum wants him out. Vargas at most is a club fighter. Nothing special. Just an undefeated bum.
If Arum wanted him out, he would feed Vargus to someone who could beat him.....rather than Omotoso. |
I noticed a lot of wins were against Thai fighters... which is odd up at that weight.
Yeah, who knows. Vargas isn't the most exciting fighter to watch, but he is a good boxer. My guess is that it will be Omotoso's first big test. |
Not to mention, one with a high KO percentage. But I've never seen Omotoso.
