Vargas-Omotoso To Open Bradley-Provodnikov on 3/16

BoxingScene.com has been advised that a battle of unbeaten welterweights will open up the Timothy Bradley-Ruslan Provodnikov HBO telecast on March 16th at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California, as Jessie Vargas (21-0, 9KOs) will square off against Lucky Boy Omotoso (23-0, 19KOs).

When reached for comment, Vargas said that he is thrilled with the opportunity that is front of him. He is also very happy about getting the opportunity to once again showcase his skills on HBO.

"We are on the right path. This is going to be a great fight for me and the fans. I feel it will be my coming out party to be among the big names in boxing. It is great to be able to fight again in Los Angeles. I have a nice fan base there. I have had fights in LA in the past and we had a nice following. I'm excited to be back in LA and looking forward to giving my fans a great fight," Vargas told BoxingScene.

Omotoso's career really stalled when he decided to leave Australia. He was doing really well here, moving along well, with better and better opponents, but since being picked up by TR, his career has been in the dumps for years…
