Earlier today a story ran by BoxingScene's David Greisman about the upcoming fight between junior middleweight contenders Erislandy Lara and Vanes Martirosyan.  The fight takes place on November 10th at the Wynn Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Lara's trainer Ronnie Shields used to train Martirosyan and told BoxingScene that the 2004 Olympian hasn't improved as a fighter.

“He’s been winning. That’s the only thing that’s better. But he’s never fought anyone like Erislandy Lara. He’s never fought anyone close to the skills of Erislandy Lara. Vanes is a tough guy, a great fighter, but he’s just going to get outclassed in this fight,” Shields stated.

I spoke to Martirosyan to get his thoughts on Shield's comments. The Armenian fighter usually isn't shy about giving his opinion but held back from saying too much.

"I'm going to show them how to beat Lara on November 10th," Martirosyan confidently told BoxingScene.com.

Martirosyan finished our conversation by wishing the best to Shields and Lara and promised to put on a good fight.

"We are going to do our talking in the ring.  They don't even know (what is going to happen).  I wish them the best in their camp.  God Bless, see you November 10th. Its going to be a great fight," Martirosyan concluded.
