Junior middleweight contender Vanes Martirosyan (30-0) is so fed up with his division that he is contemplating a temporary move up to 160 to land a title shot.
Martirosyan contacted BoxingScene.com to issue a challenge to Felix Sturm. "I read that Sturm is looking to fight Macklin again. He already beat Macklin once. Why fight him again?"
The 2004 U.S. Olympian thinks that he matches up well with the WBA middleweight champion. Martirosyan knows it will be tough to win a decision in Germany but he thinks he has what it takes to knock the champ out.
"I have seen Macklin at Wild Card before and he is nothing special and he almost beat Sturm. I'm sure I can knock Sturm out. Tell him since he is looking for a fight and no one at 154 has the balls to fight me, that I will move up and fight him. That is if he has the guts to fight me."
